Equipment
Bear in mind that march
will take place in the middle of summer and temperatures during the
day can be very high, so you will need appropriate clothes to keep
cool while walking and protect from the sun.
However during the night,
especially when walking on higher grounds, the temperature will be
considerably lower and you will need to carry with you clothes that
will keep you warm.
Here is an indicative list
of stuff you need to have with you during the march
Light pant including a
pair of shorts
Sleeping bag and a light
weight mattress
You may carry a tend with
you but consider the additional weight you will have to carry
Several pairs of socks and
underwear
A pair of good walking
shoes
A pair of walking sticks
is highly recommended
First aid kit plus
personal hygiene stuff
Food and water
On a daily basis we
estimate to march for about 7 to 8 hours. During this time our body
will need plenty of water. We advise you to carry with you two
bottles of water and refill them whenever you have the chance to do
so during the march..
We don’t recommend to
carry with you large quantities of food although it would be very
useful to carry in your bag high protein bars and nuts to give you
the extra energy you will need.
Food can be bought on the
way when we pass through villages and small towns. Alcohol is not
allowed during the march.
